Housing Capacity and Inventory

In HMIS, HMIS representatives and their authorized users can adjust their housing capacity as well as update room/unit configuration (label, bedrooms, target population).

  1. Navigate to the HOUSING workspace.
  2. Select your housing facility from the dashboard. That facility name will then appear at the top of the screen.
  3. Click Facility Information from the left-hand menu.

If your facility assigns beds or slots to clients, like an Emergency Shelter dormitory, then you will simply need to adjust the Maximum Capacity at the top of the Facility Information screen.


If your facility assigns rooms or apartment units to clients, like Emergency Hotel, Rapid Rehousing, Supportive Housing, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the screen to add or remove these units.

To add a unit, simply add a new row with the required information.

To edit a unit, simply edit the information on that row and click save.

To remove a unit, add an availability end date under the far right column.
