HMIS Active Client List
The HMIS Active Client List (ACL) is a lite version of the APR-CAPER. This report uses the same logic as the APR-CAPER with simply less information. This makes the ACL an ideal report to quickly pull a client roster or monitor data quality. As with other reports, saving the Excel Data will create a file with all the data points on screen plus additional data points.
INSTRUCTIONS
Once you define your date range, you then specify the "report type" you wish to create.
- Active at any point will show clients who were in the project(s) at any time in the report range.
- Begin Enrollment will show clients with a project start date in the time frame.
- Exited will show clients with a project exit date in the time frame.
- Still Enrolled will show clients with open enrollments in the time frame.
You should always use the official HUD Report Glossary as the criteria for an "active" client. For most project types, active means there is an enrollment present; however, for Emergency Shelters that use the Housing module, active means there is an enrollment and a check-in record present in the time frame.
Optional filters include:
- Heads of Household Only: This filter is helpful in cases where you just need to see the primary clients or where you want a household count.
- Sub-Population: This filter allows you to pull a specific sub-population such as veterans, chronically homeless, families with children, and youth-headed households (18-24 years old).
- Users: This filter will limit the results to clients entered by specific users in your organization.
Finally, you can check the Hide PII box at the bottom to remove personally identifiable information from the the report output.
