Housing Move In Date

The following project types are required to record an HMID (Housing Move-in Date) for the Head of Household only, on the date the client moves into permanent housing:

  • Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH)
  • PH – Housing Only
  • PH – Housing with Services
  • Rapid Re-Housing (RRH)

Sometimes this will be the same date as the Project Start Date, but often it will be a later date.

For example, John Doe is accepted and enrolled into a Rental Assistance Project on 1/1/2025 and begins his search for housing. On 2/1/2025, John Doe moves into a housing unit. At this point, the user would record this move-in date in HMIS via the enrollment record.

While you can use reports like the HMIS Active Client List and APR to monitor this data element, you can easily monitor which PH clients have and have not moved in yet from the HOME screen >> Active Enrollment >> PH Cases Moved In or PH Cases Not Moved In.

If your resident count on an APR or PIT report is incorrect, it's best to review these dates to ensure they are recorded correctly.
